Caitlyn Jenner appeared yesterday on the season premiere of Ellen. I remembered a blog post that I wrote for “The Pastoral is Political” at RevGalBlogPals right after (then) Bruce Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer. Since then, she is now Caitlyn, and gay couples can get married in every state in the United States, including Louisiana. All of the other restrictions and discriminations against LGBT persons are still in place all over the country, especially in Southern, Christian, conservative, Republican states, like Louisiana. The invitation extended here is still good. Hey there, Bruce Jenner.  I heard you just moved into a gorgeous hilltop home in Malibu. I was wondering if you would reconsider and move to Louisiana where I live. Ours is a unique land of crawfish and meat pies, piney woods and bayous, Carnival season and year-round festivals.You have courageously come out — as a Republican, a conservative, and a Christian.  Now that you are openly claiming your real political self, why stay in California where conservatives are in the minority?
